From tweets to Facebook posts, to even Instagram photos, healthcare consumers have been visible in accessing social media as a way to promote awareness and patient engagement.
The exchange in health information has led to a sophisticated system of communication that will continue to improve in the coming years. The use of social media tools and platforms has been particularly encouraging for the healthcare consumer to seek answers, and to even foster communication with others who share others who share the same condition from around the world.
For healthcare providers, as well, having social media presence has given them an unparalleled opportunity to connect with individuals from all over the worldwide community who share their advocacies and share priceless information and time.
